Our history has a very strong tie with Italy.
Sabino Pascale is a pastry chef with a family tradition that is over 100 years old. His two brothers, Roberto and Francesco, are still running the oldest pastry shop-cafe in Avellino (near Naples). The business is now five generations old. It started in 1850 from Vito De Pascale (the Pascale brothers’ great-great-grandfather) as a bakery and delicatessen. Then his son, Francesco De Pascale, took his place. After him, it was Sabino De Pascale, who moved the shop to the heart of the city of Avellino, in early 1900.
His son, Antonio Pascale, rebuilt the shop after the devastation of WWII and transformed the bakery into a pastry shop. After him, his three sons Sabino, Roberto and Francesco Pascale continued the tradition and enriched the business with the addition of a cafe and a winery.
Nowadays, ‘De Pascale’ is well-known in Avellino and beyond for the quality of its fresh products made with the best ingredients from original, authentic recipes. Sabino’s aim is to establish a piece of his world and passion here in Chermside.
